are concerned with the structure, functioning and disorders
of the urinary tract which includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder
and the urethra. They also treat the male reproductive tract.
Urologists’ female patients often have symptoms relating to the urinary
bladder. These include a constant sense of pressure in the pelvis, a burning
sensation on urination, frequency, urgency, stress incontinence, and backache.
Male patients frequently complain of bladder-emptying difficulties that are usually
traced to prostate enlargement.
