The Glen Rose Medical Center has partnered with Delete Blood Cancer, a global organization that leads the fight to eradicate blood cancer by empowering people to take action, give bone marrow and save lives. With over 3.5 million registered bone marrow donors worldwide, Delete Blood Cancer is part of the largest bone marrow donor center in the world.  Glen Rose Medical Center is helping the Delete Blood Cancer by raising awareness for the need to increase the number of registered donors by having a donor registration drive.  The Donor Drive will be held in the front lobby of the Glen Rose Medical Center on Wednesday, January 21st from 9:00AM to 6:00PM.  We’ll swab your cheek, take a few pieces of vital information, and you’re good to go…knowing you may one day save a life!...

Drive-Thru Fight the Flu

Glen Rose Medical Center has received the Gold Seal of Approval for Comprehensive Hospital Accreditation from The Joint Commission. Glen Rose Medical Center underwent an on-site review of its compliance with national standards that assess how hospitals determine the qualifications and compliance of their operations. “This process is designed to help [the Glen Rose Medical Center] organization continuously provide safe, high-quality care, treatment and services by identifying opportunities for improvement in your processes and helping you follow through on and implement these improvements” says Mark G. Pelletier , RN, MS and Chief Operating Office of the Division of Accreditation and Certification Operations. Glen Rose Medical Center undergoes the accreditation process every three years, and has been successful in becoming accredited since 1988.  The laboratory at Glen Rose Medical Center is reviewed every two years and will undergo an on-site review within the next year. “Safe, effective, patient care doesn’t happen by accident.  It requires a combined commitment from all of our team members including, physicians, nurses, and support staff” says Kelly Van Zandt, Director of Quality Improvement.
