Glen Rose Medical Center will host an informational luncheon, Life After Cancer; The New Normal on Friday August 21, 2015 at NOON at the Somervell County Expo Center (Banquet Room). This is a FREE event open to anyone that has been touched by cancer. The Moncrief Cancer Institute will be there with information about the Moncrief Mobile Unit available to Somervell County and the surrounding areas, as well as information on the emotional journey of cancer. If you would like to attend you can pick up tickets at Glen Rose Medical Center and Marilyn Phillips Germainia Insurance office. Seating is limited and you must have a ticket to attend. Glen Rose Medical Center and 95.3 KOME teamed up for Mission 95 on Friday June 12, 2015. Mission 95 , Donate Life was a community challenge. Glen Rose Medical Center and 95.3 challenged the residents of Somervell County to prove Carter BloodCare wrong, we told them we had a goal of 95 blood donations and they said we couldn’t do it…well we DID! We surpassed our goal of 95, we had 51 first time donors! We had several sponsors that came out to support the cause, Brookshires Grocery store donated hot dogs and all the fixing’s for our lunchtime donors, Crystal Plaster State Farm sponsored  shared information about life insurance and had fun give aways, Guardian Healthcare, Care Flight, Cherokee Rose Nursing and Rehab, Sam Richards Construction, Mary Kay Bruce with Joco Music provided the entertainment, Community Tissue, LifeGift  Texas were there they signed up 16 new organ donors, and Delete Blood Cancer signed up 26 bone marrow donors! The Glen Rose Medical Center has partnered with Delete Blood Cancer, a global organization that leads the fight to eradicate blood cancer by empowering people to take action, give bone marrow and save lives. With over 3.5 million registered bone marrow donors worldwide, Delete Blood Cancer is part of the largest bone marrow donor center in the world.  Glen Rose Medical Center is helping the Delete Blood Cancer by raising awareness for the need to increase the number of registered donors by having a donor registration drive.  The Donor Drive will be held in the front lobby of the Glen Rose Medical Center on Wednesday, January 21st from 9:00AM to 6:00PM.  We’ll swab your cheek, take a few pieces of vital information, and you’re good to go…knowing you may one day save a life!...
