X-ray & Lab Services

The x-ray and lab facilities on-site at Pecan Family Medical Center are provided by Glen Rose Medical Center. They are available to you for filling any physician’s orders, whether written by your family practitioner or a specialist.

These services are particularly convenient for the patients of Bruce Carpenter, MD, Julia Hutchinson, MD and Justus Peters, MD who practice just across the lobby at Pecan Family Medical — and for patients of our other GRMC-affiliated primary care physicians, Michael Davis, MD, Paul Schmidt, MD and Karen Burroughs, MD; as well as other physicians in the Glen Rose and Granbury area.

Your physician’s orders can be faxed  to us at 817 / 573-1611, or you may walk in with paper in hand. No need for an appointment, unless you prefer to have one. Our Pecan lab and x-ray office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

X-Ray
Our x-ray facility uses state-of-the art equipment, newly purchased for our Pecan Medical site. While radiology’s gamut has grown to include CT, MRI, ultrasound and others, still x-ray accounts for the largest percentage of radiological tests. For that reason, Glen Rose Medical Center has invested in the newest digital environment. No more dark room, no more film or film processing. Our new Picture Archiving and Computer System (PACS) is a totally digital environment that allows us to post your x-ray images and reports via secure socket Internet access where your physician can see them the moment they are completed. Doctors appreciate the faster turnaround of diagnostic reports as well as the higher quality images.

If more extensive tests are needed, Glen Rose Medical Center’s Radiology Department is equipped to provide nuclear medicine (SPECT), MRI, CT, EKG, mammography and more.

Laboratory
The lab at Pecan Family Medical Center is a collection satellite office of Glen Rose Medical Center’s laboratory. Focused on accuracy, our conscientious lab at GRMC has been recognized for meeting the standards of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

For patients who are required to have regularly scheduled lab work, our close-to-home facility will have particular value. Lab specimens taken at Pecan Medical will be submitted to our lab within the day. Results are transmitted to your physician just as they would be had you come to the hospital for your laboratory needs. A wide variety of tests are accommodated including • Microbiology • Hematology • Coagulation • General and Special Chemistry.

Glen Rose Medical Center is pleased to be able to bring these services within easy access of Pecan Plantation and DeCordova Bend community residents. In addition, the full services of our acute care hospital and Trauma Designated ER are just nine minutes up the road. We look forward to serving you in every way we can.
