Glen Rose Medical Center

Striving for the highest quality
Since 1988, GRMC’s hospital, laboratory and nursing home have earned and retained annual accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations — an honor recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality.
spacerJCAHO is an independent, not-for-profit organization that evaluates and accredits almost 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. It is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Since 1951, the Joint Commission has developed state-of-the-art, professionally based standards and evaluated the compliance of health care organizations against these benchmarks.
spacerAiming to improve the safety and quality of care, the Joint Commission’s standards address an organization’s performance in key areas, focusing “not simply on what the organization has, but what it actually does,” according to JCAHO’s Web site.
spacer“Standards set forth performance expectations for activities that affect the quality of patient care — if an organization does the right things and does them well, there is a strong likelihood that its patients will experience good outcomes,” says the Joint Commission.
spacerTo remain accredited, Glen Rose Medical Center must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years. Our laboratory is surveyed every two years.
