24 hours a day, the Emergency Services of our Level IV trauma center are prepared to treat everything from a sprain to a life-threatening injury or illness.
Glen Rose Medical Center is proud to have held Trauma IV certification since 1998. This certification assures our trauma patients that they will be stabilized and then rushed to the appropriate trauma facility via LifeStar air ambulance.
Around the clock, our emergency team accesses a ready supply of blood, 24-hour test results from GRMC’s on-site lab, CT scans or x-rays — all just steps from the ER. All Glen Rose Medical Center physicians and nurses are ACLS certified (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and hold numerous other certifications in trauma and pediatric emergency.
And because TLC in the ER is important, we warm our blankets and injectable fluids — a little extra that means a lot.
REMEMBER:
Due to the quick-response nature of an emergency, insurance providers do not expect pre-certification. However, they do require you to notify your primary care physician and the insurance company, generally within 48 hours of your treatment in our Emergency Room —if that treatment was received on an out-patient basis (meaning you were not admitted to the hospital for in-patient care as a result of your ER visit). It is not the responsibility of GRMC to make these calls.
